Are all Driza-Bone products made in Australia?
All of our traditional oilskin products have been made in Australia for our 120 year history and we will continue to make these garments in Australia. Some of our Desert Wax and Dry Wax jackets and vests are also made in local Australian factories. Additionally, we manufacture some knitwear styles in Australia using Australian merino and our leather belts are also made in Australia. All Australian made products are easily identifiable on our website.
All Driza-Bone garments and fabrics are designed, tried and tested, in-house at our head office in Abbotsford, Victoria. Where possible we use premium Australian wool, fabric and leather, and are always looking to increase our support of local manufacturers and suppliers.
We are very committed to maintaining our Australian production however manufacturing in Australia is on the decline across all industries and the garment business is no different. We are slowly losing the skills and machinery in our industry which makes being competitive in some areas very difficult therefore we look overseas to produce select items.
Currently our products made overseas are produced in China using premium local and internationally sourced materials. Due to our close relationship with trusted suppliers, we maintain Australian standards and ensure that workers are treated fairly and with respect. We also make regular visits to our suppliers’ factories.
Australian made is always our preference, but unfortunately not always achievable for all of our products. Please be assured that no matter where our garments are produced, we always strive to provide the best quality product from the best source.
